Tierené C. Inuolaji Tierené C. Inuolaji is a community health and program development leader with extensive experience in maternal and child health, social work, and community-based systems of care. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Michigan University, with minors in Interdisciplinary Studies and Spanish, and has built a career centered on advancing health equity, family support, and sustainable community programming.Her professional background spans mental health services, maternal and child health, and caregiver education, where she is recognized for developing and managing programs that respond to the practical and social determinants impacting families. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and is completing her Registered Nurse (RN) degree, while also pursuing certifications as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST). Her clinical and programmatic expertise strengthens her ability to design responsive, evidence-informed initiatives that improve outcomes for women, children, and vulnerable populations.
Tierené currently serves as Director of Programming at Rootead Enrichment Center, where she oversees the Birth Justice, Youth Enrichment, and Community Healing departments. In this role, she provides strategic leadership for program design, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring initiatives are community-centered, culturally responsive, and aligned with long-term impact goals.
In addition to her programming leadership, Tierené has held executive and operational roles supporting maternal health initiatives, including serving as a Doula Manager overseeing maternal support programs. She is also the co-founder of Heritage Homes AFC, an adult foster care home focused on delivering dignified, compassionate care while strengthening community stability. Committed to advancing systemic change, Tierené is an active member of a Health Equity service group working to address disparities and promote collaborative solutions across the greater Kalamazoo area. Her work reflects a deep commitment to improving access, strengthening families, and fostering community wellness through strategic program leadership and cross-sector collaboration.
